Solar Panels and Roofing
We’re often asked what the benefits of solar roofing are and if the homeowner should opt to add solar panels to their roofing system. With some new systems even fitting into new shingle and tile profiles, solar panel manufacturers are offering more choices than ever for your roof.

Commercial Roofing Sales Leader – Steve Funke
Steve joins Garabar as the leader of our commercial roofing sales division. With 6 years in engineering, over 30 years in sales and 12 years in roofing, Steve brings the knowledge and expertise to handle large and small commercial projects. Steve has previously been part of construction design teams and has built houses in South America.
The Importance of Roofing Warranties
A new roof is like buying a new car, often it’s a big and necessary purchase and although they come with warranties, those warranties come with conditions. Just like a car, a roof has to be maintained. Roofers and material manufacturers by and large offer good warranties on your roof, however you may not always read this one important exclusion from the warranty: WARRANTY EXCLUSION DUE TO LACK OF ROOF MAINTENANCE.

Product Spotlight – Slate Roofing
We blogged about our SlateCrafter certification by GAF and want to take this opportunity to let you know why the slate product from GAF is truly a fantastic and revolutionary product.
Typically slate roofing requires the roof to withstand a heavy load and not all roofs are suited to it. similarly due to the unique nature of slate, it was always an expensive roofing option. With GAF’s new TruSlate product, these downfalls are mostly eliminated. The TruSlate product is REAL slate, but it is less is much thinner than traditional slate tiles. It also has a nifty snap-in installation. What you get is a uniform slate look with less material and less weight while also saving on installation costs because it is so much easier for us.

Fort Lauderdale Home Show
We had a great showing in Fort Lauderdale at our largest Home Show of the year. Our roofing estimation software was a big hit and dozens of homeowners came to our booth to estimate the cost of re-roofing their homes. We look forward to seeing you again at the spring 2010 Palm Beach home show!
